Wind Turbine & PV on Cerridwen Farm Greenhouse
A 1.5 kw wind turbine on Cerridwen Farm feeds into the greenhouse battery pack to provide power for greenhouse operations, as does a 500 watt PV system. These were Student Campus Greening Fund projects.
Solar High Tunnels
A PV system that heats hot water distributed through the a high-tunnel greenhouse to heat the root zone of the soil.
Solar Thermal Hot Water on Cerridwen Farm
A PV system on the Cerridwen Farm Hay Mow consists of two 4' x 8' panels that generate thermal hot water for farm operations. This system was installed during Earth Week, 2009 by a GMC alumnus.
The Mobile "Solar Roller"
A mobile "solar roller" unit uses a PV system on top of a trailer to power a battery back stored within. This unit can be moved around campus to power tools, lights, etc. as needed. This project was funded by the Student Campus Greening Fund and re-purposed solar panels that were not functioning on the roof of Withey Hall.
